Lake Erie wins their second straight game, trips up Hamilton 2-1. The total power play opportunities were limited to three between the two clubs and the Monsters were only out shot 26-20. Justin Mercier opened the game's scoring with his eighth goal of the season late in the first period. After Hamilton tied it up in the second frame, newly minted AHL All-Star, Mark Olver (19), tipped a Joel Chouinard shot past Bulldogs goaltender, Curtis Sanford, to give Lake Erie a 2-1 lead that they would not relinquish.
John Grahame stopped 25 shots to earn his 12th win of the season. Olver and Mercier were named the first and third stars of the game respectively. The Monsters improve their record to 23-21-3-4. Lake Erie will complete the second half of their home-and-home with Hamilton on Saturday in Cleveland.
