Lake Erie skates past Oklahoma City 3-1. The Monsters are on a season high four game winning streak. Mark Olver opened the scoring in the second period with his team leading 16th goal of the season. A late second period power play tally by Ryan Stoa (15) put the Monsters up for good. Mike Carman (9) sealed the win with a third period goal.
John Grahame stopped 24 shots to earn his ninth win of the season. Stoa, Olver and Grahame were named the three stars of the game. With the win, the Monsters improve to 20-19-3-4. The club is currently in fourth place in the North Division.
Portland trips up Tri-City in overtime 5-4. Defenseman Troy Rutkowski had a quiet offensive game for the Winterhawks and finished minus one for the contest. Portland was 0-5 on the power play. With the win, the club improves to 29-14-0-3.
Kamloops edges Seattle in a shoot-out 4-3. Calvin Pickard had a busy night in net stopping a whopping 55 shots in regulation and overtime. He allowed two goals in the shoot-out, but was still named the first star of the game. Seattle falls to 18-19-4-5.
Boston University falls to Merrimack 3-2. Merrimack has won six games in a row. Kieran Millan suffered his fourth loss of the season. He made 38 saves in the contest. Both clubs were a combined 0-12 on the power play.
Dinamo R edges CSKA in a shoot-out 4-3. Denis Parshin assisted on a second period goal scored by CSKA. He was the only player on his club that converted on his shoot-out opportunity. Parshin finished with two shots in the game.
