Lake Erie scores twice in the second period to beat Rochester 3-1. The Monsters are now 2-3 on their road trip. John Grahame stopped 31 of 32 Americans shots. He has six wins in 16 starts this season for Lake Erie.

Mark Olver (12) tied the game at one in the first period. Lake Erie took a 3-1 lead in the second period on goals scored by Luke Walker (6) and Mike Carman (8). Carman's tally was a short-handed marker. The rookie forward has six short-handed goals this season. 

Walker, Grahame, and Carman were named the three stars of the game. The Monsters head to Hershey on Saturday for the sixth game of their seven game road trip.

Tulsa throttles Arizona 9-3. Trevor Cann back stopped the Oilers with 40 saves and earned third star of the game honors. He is now 5-2 on the season. Tom Fritsche assisted on a second period goal for Tulsa. He fired a single shot on net. The Oilers are back to a 0.500 record.


Guelph edges Owen Sound 4-3. Joey Hishon notched his 26th goal of the season. It was a short-handed goal that tied the game at three midway in the third period. Hishon also assisted on a first period power play goal for the Attack. He took a cross-checking penalty in the third period and finished plus one for the game.

Peterborough skates past Kitchener 4-3. Brandon Maxwell made 21 saves in the loss; dropping his record to 16-8-3. His club was 1-4 on the power play and fired 37 shots on net. Despite the loss, the Rangers remain in first place of the Midwest Divison.

Mississauga trips up Belleville 3-2. Stephen Silas was penalized for hooking early in the third period, which led to the game tying goal for the Majors. The Bulls have lost six games in a row. Belleville has the second fewest points in the league at 27.


Saskatoon tops Swift Current 5-3. Stefan Elliott was held off the score sheet and was plus one for the contest. Both clubs were 0-2 on the power play. The Blades improve to 33-9-0-2.

Portland falls to Kelowna 5-3. Troy Rutkowski opened the scoring in the first period with a power play goal. The defenseman has seven goals on the season. He was penalized for high sticking in the first frame. Rockets captain Tyson Barrie assisted on three Kelowna goals. He was assessed with a hooking minor in the third period. 

Seattle holds off Everett 3-1. Calvin Pickard made 35 saves for the Thunderbirds en route to his 18th win of the season. He was named the third star of the game. Overall the T-Birds sit in seventh place in the Western Conference with a record of 18-17-4-4.



Michigan nips Ferris State 3-2. Luke Moffatt skated on the fourth line for the Wolverines and fired two shots on net. He was even for the contest. Despite the win, Michigan was 0-6 on the power play. The victory improves the Wolverines to 14-6-4.


Minnesota stuns North Dakota, in Grand Forks, 3-2. Brad Malone fired six shots on Kent Patterson and managed to get one by him. Malone has eight goals on the season. Malone was involved in a melee at the end of the second period in which he was issued penalties for roughing and unsportsmanlike conduct. Nate Condon was also involved in the second period events at the end of the frame and earned the same roughing and unsportsmanlike conduct penalties as Malone. Patterson stopped 35 Sioux shots and was named the first star of the game.



SKA trims CSKA 2-1. Denis Parshin registered two shots on net in his 19:11 of ice time. CSKA has won just 11 games in regulation this season out of a possible 43.


Ilves doubles up Jokerit 4-2. Sami Aittokallio stopped 31 shots to earn the victory.
