AHL

Lake Erie wins the back portion of the home-and-home; blanks Hamilton 3-0. John Grahame stopped all 30 shots he faced to win his fourth game of the season. It was also his first shutout on the year. Grahame was named the first star of the game.

Ryan Stoa opened the scoring in the first period with his 11th goal of the season. Mike Carman notched his seventh tally of the year. The short-handed goal was the fifth one scored by Carman on the season. Stoa and Carman were named the second and third stars of the game. Matt Ford had the other tally for the Monsters. It was his 11th score of the season.

CHL

Tulsa dumps Texas 6-2. Tom Fritsche assisted on a power play goal scored in the second period. He did not record a shot on net; though the rest of his team mates fired 28 shots on the Texas goal. The Oilers find themselves back at 0.500.

OHL

Owen Sound comes back to beat Ottawa 6-5. The Attack had to overcome a 4-1 deficit. Joey Hishon assisted on three of the tallies before capping off the come back with the game tying and game winning goals. For his efforts, he was named the first star of the game. Hishon has now vaulted himself to sixth in scoring in the OHL with 53 points.

Oshawa doubles up Kitchener 4-2. Brandon Maxwell allowed all four Generals goals on 34 shots. Not only did Maxwell lose his sixth game of the season in regulation, he was also penalized for tripping in the second period. The defeat puts the Rangers two points behind North Division leading Owen Sound, but Kitchener has two games in hand.

Brampton trims Belleville in a shoot-out 2-1. Stephen Silas finished plus one during regulation. He did not participate in the shoot-out. The Bulls were out shot 38-21. Belleville has lost three games in the shoot-out this season.

WHL

Saskatoon upends Red Deer 7-3. Red Deer out shot Saskatoon 43-26. Stefan Elliott assisted on a short-handed goal scored in the second frame and also notched his 16th goal of the season in the same period. Elliott was okay after receiving a nasty hit from Rebels defenseman Josh Cowen. Elliott was named the third star of the game.

Kamloops scores twice in the third period to top Seattle 3-2. Calvin Pickard stopped 46 of 49 shots in a losing effort. His club managed 40 shots on the Kamloops net. Seattle falls to 16-14-3-4.

NCAA

Dodge Holiday Classic (Minneapolis, MN)

Ferris State and Minnesota skate to a 2-2 tie. Kent Patterson made 27 stops in the game and now has three ties on the year. Nate Condon fired three shots on net for the Gophers and was plus one for the contest.

Shillelagh Tournament (Hoffman Estates, IL)

Brown thumps Boston University 6-1. Kieran Millan was the goaltender of record and allowed all six opposition tallies.  He made 18 saves in the game and saw his individual record fall to 5-3-5.
