Peoria trims Lake Erie in a shoot-out 3-2. Matt Ford (8) and Mike Carman (6) had the goals in regulation for the Monsters. Yet, it was former Avalanche farm hand, TJ Hensick, who did the Monsters in on this night. Hensick had the primary assist on the game tying goal and had the winner in the shoot-out. He was named the first star of the game.
John Grahame started the game for the Monsters and stopped 31 shots in the loss. Lake Erie was 0-4 on the power play. Patrick Rissmiller was the only Monster to score in the shoot-out.
Tulsa trips up Missouri in overtime 4-3. Harrison Reed assisted on a first period power play goal for the Oilers. He fired five shots on net and was even for the game. Tom Fritsche was held to a single shot on goal and had a minus two rating on the evening. The Oilers improve to 8-12-1.
Ottawa dumps Belleville 4-1. Stephen Silas was minus three on the night for the Bulls. Belleville had 24 shots on goal and was 0-4 with the man advantage. The Bulls drop to 9-19-0-2.
Owen Sound hammers Saginaw 7-1. Joey Hishon scored his 16th and 17th goals of the season for the Attack. He also assisted on another Owen Sound tally. Hishon was penalized for boarding in the second frame, but was named the first star of the game. He moved up to 10th in scoring in the OHL with 41 points in 20 games.
Seattle edges Prince George in a shoot-out 5-4. Calvin Pickard stopped 39 shots in regulation and overtime. He gave up one goal in the shoot-out session. Pickard earned his 12th win of the season.
Portland falls to Spokane 4-3. Troy Rutkowski had a quiet offensive game for the Winterhawks, but was even for the game. Portland was out shot 49-29 and was 0-3 on the power play.
Kelowna doubles up Saskatoon 6-3. Rockets captain, Tyson Barrie, assisted on two power play goals. He ends the game with 25 points in 21 games. On the Saskatoon side, Stefan Elliott notched his ninth goal of the season and assisted on a goal scored by the Blades in the third period. He was hit with a high sticking minor in the first period and was plus one for the game.
Boston College tops Boston University 5-2; sweeps two game set. Kieran Millan started the game for the Terriers and had another tough night in the nets. He gave up all five Eagles goals on 34 shots. His record falls to 4-2-5. Paul Carey had a quiet game for the Eagles. He fired only one shot on goal and was penalized for roughing late in the first period. BC improves to 11-5-0.
Minnesota State nips Minnesota 2-1. Nate Condon centered the second line for Minnesota, but could only muster one shot on goal. Kent Patterson took the loss in net for the Gophers. He made 30 saves, while his opponent Phil Cook stopped 49 shots. Minnesota tumbles to 8-7-1.
North Dakota dominates St. Cloud State 6-2. The Sioux out shot the Huskies 39-15. Brad Malone had the secondary assist on the opening tally for North Dakota. He launched four shots on the St. Cloud State net. North Dakota improves to 11-5-2.
