Friday Scoreboard


Lake Erie doubles up Chicago 6-3.  Patrick Rissmiller had a huge night for the Monsters.  The former San Jose Shark had four goals and also assisted on another tally.  He was easily named the first star of the game.  The game's second star, Ben Walter, had a goal and two assists for the Monsters.  The other Monsters goal came off the stick of Matt Ford.

Ryan Stoa and Mark Olver each contributed with two helpers.  John Grahame out dueled former Denver Pioneers goaltender, Peter Mannino, and stopped 33 shots.  Grahame was named the third star of the game.  The Monsters were 2-5 on the power play.

Tulsa trims Mississippi in a shoot-out 5-4.  Harrison Reed launched five shots on goal during regulation and overtime, but did not find the score sheet.  He also did not score in his shoot-out opportunity.  Tom Fritsche was penalized for hooking in the first period.  He was held to a single shot on net and was plus one for the contest.  


Owen Sound falls to Plymouth 3-2.   Joey Hishon notched his 15th goal of the season on a power play in the second period.  Both clubs were 1-5 on the power play.  The loss drops Owen Sound to second place in the Midwest Division behind the Kitchener Rangers.  

Erie trips up Kitchener 2-1 in overtime.  Brandon Maxwell made 33 saves in the game and was named the second star of the contest despite the loss.  His record drops to 12-5-1.  

Ottawa drops Belleville 4-1.  Stephen Silas assisted on a power play goal scored in the second period, but finished the game with a minus three rating.  He has 13 assists in 29 games this season.  The Bulls fall to 9-18-0-2.


Saskatoon skates by Kamloops, in overtime, 4-3.  Stefan Elliott assisted on the game tying goal and game winning goal.  The game winner was on the power play.  Elliott finished the game with a plus one rating.  

Portland dumps Tri-City 5-1.  The Winterhawks dominated in shots 48-27.  Troy Rutkowski assisted on two of the Portland goals; both on the power play.  He was even for the contest.  Rutkowski has 21 points in 31 games.

Seattle edges Prince George 5-4.  Calvin Pickard stopped 36 shots to earn his 11th win of the season.  The Thunderbirds were 0-4 on the power play.  Pickard has been in net for all of Seattle's wins this season.

Chilliwack comes back to beat Kelowna 3-2.  The Bruins scored three times in the third period to earn the victory.  Tyson Barrie assisted on a second period goal for the Rockets.  He took a slashing penalty in the third period and finished plus one for the game.



Ohio State nips Michigan in overtime 3-2.  Luke Moffatt skated on the third line for the Wolverines and fired two shots on net.  He was even for the contest.  Moffatt has eight points in 13 games this year for Michigan.  The Wolverines fall to 8-5-4.

Hockey East

Boston College thumps Boston University 9-4.  Terriers starting goaltender, Kieran Millan, was chased after the first period, when he allowed three goals on 13 shots.  Paul Carey scored on his first shot on goal.  The high shot that beat Millan was Carey's sixth goal of the season.  BU had 15 power plays and scored on three of them; BC was 3-8 with the man advantage. 


Minnesota State edges Minnesota 3-2.  Nate Condon was credited with an assist on a first period Gophers goal.  He was even for the contest.  Kent Patterson did not play.  The Gophers fall to 8-6-1.

North Dakota upends St. Cloud State 3-1.  Brad Malone had a big night for the Sioux; he scored twice, including the game winner.  Malone also had the lone assist on the other North Dakota tally.  He was named the first star of the game.  The Sioux improve to 10-5-2.
