Friday Scoreboard

AHL

Chicago comes back to beat Lake Erie 6-5 in overtime.  The Monsters gave up a 5-2 lead.  Former Monster, Darren Haydar, led the comeback charge with a natural hat trick.  Due to recent call ups, the Monsters played with only five defensemen.

Ray Macias (1), Ryan Stoa (1), Mike Carman (1), Ben Walter (3), and Tom Zanoski (1) had the goals for Lake Erie.  Joel Chouinard contributed with two assists and has five points in four games since his return from injury.  Trevor Cann started his first game of the year for Lake Erie.  He stopped 29 shots in the loss.

The Monsters will host Grand Rapids on Sunday.

CHL

Missouri doubles up Tulsa 4-2.  The Oilers encountered some drama before their game as their team bus caught on fire en route to Missouri.  Fortunately, no one was injured.  Harrison Reed had both Oilers goals and now has four on the season.  Tulsa falls to 2-6-1.

OHL

Erie blanks Owen Sound 4-0.  The Attack was 0-5 on the power play.  Joey Hishon was held off the score sheet for the second straight game.  He was even for the contest.  Owen Sound falls to 11-4-0-1.

Kitchener thumps Belleville 8-0.  Brandon Maxwell was given the night off for the Rangers.  Stephen Silas was minus three for the Bulls as Belleville falls to 5-12 on the season.  Kitchener improves to 11-5.

QMJHL

PEI trims Shawinigan in overtime 3-2.  Michael Bournival notched his 10th goal of the season in the loss.  He fired four shots on net, but was under 50 percent in the face-off dot.

WHL

Portland nips Red Deer in overtime 4-3.  Troy Rutkowski was plus one for the contest, but did not factor in on any of the Winterhawks goals.  Portland improves to 12-2-0-1.

Kelowna upends Vancouver 4-3.  Tyson Barrie assisted on the game tying goal for the Rockets early in the third period.  He was penalized for roughing in the first period and was named the second star of the game.  Kelowna improves to 7-10.  

NCAA

CCHA

Alaska shuts down Michigan 3-0.  Luke Moffatt skated on the fourth line for the Wolverines and failed to record a shot on goal.  He was even for the game.  Michigan falls to 4-2-3.

Hockey East

New Hampshire trips up Boston College 2-1.  The Eagles suffered their third loss of the season.  Paul Carey skated on the top line for BC, but was held to two shots on net.  He was even for the game.

WCHA

Wisconsin hammers Minnesota 6-0.  Nate Condon fired two shots on net for the Gophers, but was minus one for the game.  Wisconsin had the edge in shots 38-24.  Kent Patterson did not play.  Minnesota falls to 5-4-0.  

Europe

KHL

CSKA falls to Dinamo Mn 5-2.  Denis Parshin was minus one for the game and registered two shots on net for CSKA.  His club has won just nine of their first 22 games.
