Sunday Scoreboard


Lake Erie falls to Chicago 5-2.  The Monsters three game winning streak comes to an end.  Lake Erie had the edge in shots 35-24.  Mark Olver (6, 7) had both goals for the Monsters.  Despite being on the losing side, he was named the first star of the game.

Jason Bacashihua started the game for Lake Erie and made 19 saves in the loss.  Both Monsters goals came on the power play.  The Monsters added defenseman Jonas Holos  to the roster, but he did not suit up for the game.

Spokane upends Portland 3-1.  The Winterhawks winning streak ends at four.  Troy Rutkowski was even for the game.  Portland loses for just the fourth time in regulation this season.


Hockey East

Boston College tops Maine 4-1.  Paul Carey scored twice for the Eagles and was named the first star of the game.  Carey fired six shots on net and was penalized for boarding in the third period.  BC improves to 8-4-0.



CSKA edges Salavat Yulaev in a shoot-out 5-4.  Denis Parshin launched two shots on goal, but did not record a point during regulation.  He did convert on his shoot-out attempt.
