AHL

Lake Erie blanks Grand Rapids 3-0.  All three goals were scored in the first period.  Ray Macias opened the scoring for the Monsters with his third goal of the season.  The other two tallies came off the stick of Mark Olver (4, 5).  Tom Zanoski had two helpers.

Jason Bacashihua made 29 saves in the contest.  He now has two shut outs on the season.  Bacashihua, Olver, and Zanoski were named the three stars of the game.  The Monsters were 1-6 on the power play.

Owen Sound thumps Belleville 8-3.  The Attack dominated in shots 45-25.  Joey Hishon scored twice and added two assists.  He is now 13th in the OHL in scoring with 28 points in 12 games.  Hishon was plus two and was named the second star of the game.  Stephen Silas was minus one for the Bulls, who now have fallen to 6-14-0-2.  Only Barrie, Sudbury, and Peterborough have worse records.

Subway Super Series

Team Russia edges Team WHL in the shoot-out 7-6.  Stefan Elliott recorded a goal and an assist in the game.  He did not participate in the shoot-out.  The series concludes on Thursday in Prince George, BC.

Metallurg Mg shuts down CSKA 5-0.  Denis Parshin was minus one for the game and fired two shots on net.  After 17 games, Parshin has 13 points for CSKA.
