Lake Erie dumps Hamilton 5-1. After a scoreless first period, the Monsters fell behind to the Bulldogs in the second frame. Ray Macias (2) and Greg Mauldin (5) would give the Monsters the lead before the end of the period. Two goals by Ben Walter (4, 5) and the first professional goal by Luke Walker would seal the win in the third period.
Jason Bacashihua earned his third win of the season. He stopped 27 shots in the contest. Walter, Mauldin, and Bacashihua were named the three stars of the game. Brandon Rogers contributed with two assists. Joel Chouinard left the game in the second period due to injury.
Oshawa blanks Belleville 4-0. The Bulls were out shot 33-16 in the game. Stephen Silas was minus one for the game. He was penalized for interference in the second period. Belleville falls to 5-13-0-1.
Subway Super Series
QMJHL falls to the Russia Selects 4-3. Michael Bournival was held off the score sheet and did not record a shot on net. The series now shifts to a two game set featuring players from the OHL versus the Russia Selects.
Seattle tops Prince Albert 5-2. Calvin Pickard stopped 27 shots en route to his eighth win of the season. Pickard has started all 17 games for the Thunderbirds.
Portland trips up Regina 5-4 in overtime. Troy Rutkowski had the secondary assist on the game tying goal with three minutes remaining in regulation. He was plus two for the contest. The Winterhawks have now won ten games in a row.
Kelowna trims Edmonton 2-1. Tyson Barrie scored what turned out to be the game winning tally on a power play late in the second period. It was his fourth goal of the season and he was named the second star of the game.
