Saturday Scoreboard

AHL

Oklahoma City comes back to beat Lake Erie 4-3.  The Monsters blew a 3-0 lead.  Greg Mauldin and David Van der Gulik scored short-handed goals within a span of 1:06.  Things were looking good for the Monsters after captain David Liffiton put them up 3-0.  However, the Barons scored four unanswered goals.  The game winner came with 1:23 remaining in regulation.

John Grahame stopped 22 shots in the loss. The Monsters led in shots 27-26.  The Monsters were 0-1 on the power play and have yet to score a power play goal in three games.  Lake Erie continues their road trip on Sunday in San Antonio.

Tulsa tops Wichita 4-1.  Trevor Cann out dueled Ian Keserich once again, stopping 35 of 36 shots.  Cann has won his first two starts and was named the third star of the game.  Harrison Reed assisted on a third period Oilers goal.  He led the team in shots with five.

OHL

London doubles up Kitchener 4-2.  Brandon Maxwell made 36 saves in the loss.  His record drops to 4-3.  Both clubs now trail Mid-West Division leading Owen Sound by four points.

Belleville trips up Saginaw in overtime 3-2.  The Spirit were out shot 6-0 in the overtime session.  Stephen Silas was plus one for the game and was penalized for holding in the second period.  The Bulls won just their third game of the season. 

WHL

Saskatoon blanks Lethbridge 4-0.  Stefan Elliott notched his third goal of the season. The goal was a 3 on 5 short-handed tally. Elliott was assessed a tripping minor in the second period. The Blades improve their record to 8-1.

Portland upends Kelowna 5-1.  Troy Rutkowski was credited with a second period assist. He finished the game with a plus one rating. Tyson Barrie continues to miss time for the Rockets due to a torn hamstring.

Calgary nips Seattle 3-2 in overtime.  Calvin Pickard made 28 stops in the loss. His record falls to 5-2-1. The Hitmen scored on both of their power play opportunities.

NCAA

Hockey East

Massachusetts and Boston University skate to a 2-2 tie.  Kieran Millan stopped 28 shots and was named the second star of the game.  His record now stands at 1-0-1.  The Terriers were 0-4 with the man advantage.

WCHA

North Dakota gets the sweep by dropping Bemidji State 5-2. Brad Malone recorded a third period assist for the Fighting Sioux. He was held without a shot on net and was penalized for boarding in the first period. North Dakota had the edge in shots 26-22.

Nebraska-Omaha beats Minnesota 4-2; sweeps the two game set.  Nate Condon launched three shots on goal, but was minus one for the Gophers.  The Mavericks dominated in shots 48-31.  Kent Patterson did not start the game in net for Minnesota.

Non-conference

Boston College shuts down Denver 3-0; sweeps series.  The Pioneers were 0-9 on the power play and 0-17 for the two game series.  Paul Carey assisted on a second period goal scored by Tommy Cross.  He was penalized for high-sticking in the first period and was plus two for the game.
